One year of Development and a Beard – Part 4

Final one – AI, last preparations and a Beard:) Make sure you checked first, second and third part of those memoirs.

After investigation – “how enemy AI movement problem can be solved in a games” – I found A++ algorithm. It have a lot of documentation and examples in internet. So, I started to create my own implementation. One thing was bad in it for me – it require strictly fixed steps for AI, but I have a physics based movement – but I resolved that problem too . You can check it’s movement in actually game. And as a result – I have AI movement now in a game – pretty cool, isn’t it?:)

And you say – “oh, and that’s all?” – no:) Although all things was done – I even added sounds – still there was a lot of small details that i thought need to be fixed. I believe that now it have a lot of such things too (just tell me about them in comments), but some of them I wanted to fix even before first release. So I worked, and worked, and worked ……….

Until I realized that I am not able to release any version. In first place for me – was Your opinion. I wanted to know – what people will think about my game. But I simple was not able to release it for You – just because of a lot such small things. And here is where Beard is coming:)

You know there are such men, who simply stop shave and one week later – he is just like a Kratos from God of War 4? So, I am not from such men:) If I stop shave – it’s will look like terrible. Althought – it will really disturb me. And at this point of game development – I just stop shaving at all. Now, each time I look in a mirror, or simple “fill it on me” – I remember that I must finish this task. And this worked:) Around one month without shaving – and I did this – I finally released my game – here is results:

Thant’s it. This was my final part of first impression from One Year of Game Development. It was a hard year, and more work is coming, but now – I have at least something to start from.
